Kissing the Black Dog - a Deeper Understanding of Unwillingness

Jan 7, 2015 at 07:55

Unwillingness to change is a block that stops many of us from achieving success in our chosen area of life. Our actions can affect our friends, our family and we end up hurting ourselves.

Willing to Change, willing to learn are the keys to effective outcomes in our lives. Knowing when we are willing and unwilling helps us keep moving forward. Sometimes our tank is full and we can not take in any more information. At these times we need to stop, take a breather before we start again.

I have seen unwillingness issues in many forms over the years, usually in people who believe they have no problems and do not need help. They tend to blame others and are skilful at planting seeds of doubt. They can also when trapped, turn to abuse and violence. It is highly possible symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress may rise. I refer to them as the Takers mentioned in my article Dealing with Abusive People

This article on Narrissists can give a deeper understanding of what is also referred to as Unwillingness or Physiological Reversal. It is not common to get clients with this condition and the chances of them healing is extremely slim until they have a crisis. These people will be in our lives somewhere and understanding the rules of the game can help us all deal with their games.
